Henry Beach
From MEDIAtedX RA to ARTECHOUSE Curator

One of the most rewarding outcomes of our work at the MEDIAted X Lab is witnessing the incredible growth and professional success of our students. Henry Beach is a shining example of this journey—transforming from a dedicated Research Assistant under the mentorship of Professor Ana Herruzo into a key player in the world of immersive media and experiential design.

Henry joined the lab as a graduate student in ASU’s Interdisciplinary Digital Media for Performance MFA program. As Ana Herruzo’s mentee for three years, he played a pivotal role in projects like MEDIAted Membranes, where he honed his skills in creative technology, large-scale media design, and interactive systems. His time in the lab sharpened his eye for production design while deepening his expertise in video programming, virtual production, and live event media.

Today, Henry is a Project Manager at ARTECHOUSE Studio, where he now leads curatorial development for groundbreaking digital art experiences. Most recently, he curated a national student exhibition at ARTECHOUSE New York, launching in June 2025—an unprecedented opportunity that showcases student work from ASU’s Media and Immersive eXperience (MIX) Center.

This exhibition features projects from Sensory Visions, taught by Ana Herruzo, and Interactive Media Art Installations, led by Weidi Zhang—both courses within the TDS program. Thanks to Henry’s leadership and advocacy, ARTECHOUSE is covering flights and lodging for participating ASU students, a remarkable show of support for emerging artists in immersive media.

Henry Beach continues to bridge creative vision and technical execution, working at the forefront of immersive media while remaining deeply connected to the values and collaborative spirit fostered here at the MEDIAted X Lab. We’re proud to celebrate his continued success—and can’t wait to see what’s next.

alba olive marti
From 3D Artist to Graduate Assistant & Drone Show Educator

Alba’s journey with the MEDIAted X Lab began in Fall 2023, during her final year as an undergraduate student in Animation at ASU’s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. Recognizing her talent and passion for visual storytelling, Professor Ana Herruzo invited Alba to join the creative team as a 3D Artist for Arizona State University’s first-ever Drone Show. The success of that show not only launched a partnership between ASU and Nova Sky Stories but also laid the foundation for a strong and ongoing mentorship between Alba and Ana.

Following the project, Alba was brought on as a Graduate Assistant in the MEDIAted X Lab, where she has since contributed to several initiatives within the MEDIAted Membranes ecosystem. Her creative and technical contributions have supported the lab’s interdisciplinary work in immersive media, interactivity, and public art.

Now pursuing a Master’s degree in Immersive Experience Design with a graduate assistantship, Alba continues to collaborate closely with Ana Herruzo on forward-thinking projects. She also serves as the Teaching Assistant for the first course in the nation dedicated to drone show design—a class she helped co-develop with Ana. Together, they have crafted a curriculum that bridges design, technology, and narrative to educate the next generation of drone show creators.

Alba’s trajectory reflects the mission of the MEDIAted X Lab: to nurture emerging talent, foster meaningful mentorships, and push the boundaries of creative technology. Her dedication and vision make her an invaluable part of the lab’s growth and future.
